PROFILE OF PETER ANTHONY NORENIUS (Former Managing Director/Sole Shareholder: Executive Advisory Services Pty Ltd.)

Experience: 42 years in the insurance industry. Started Life Assurance career with the Old Mutual in 1967 and with the Old Mutual attained the status of District Manager, in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. In early 1973 relocated to Johannesburg and entered the Life Assurance Broking industry through a number of Corporate Broking Firms, e.g. Hill Samuel Life Brokers, Institutional Life Brokers, Standard Bank Assurance Brokers, CT Bowring & Associates (now First Bowring) and then finally established Executive Advisory Services on 1st November 1979.

Received a considerable number of Life Assurance Business awards. These include Production, Management and National Quality awards. In 1973 was the second Top New Business Production producer for the first quarter for Old Mutual in addition to other Production, consistency and Management awards whilst with the Old Mutual.

Further Production Quality Awards through Guarantee Life and Anglo American Life, culminating in their "Gold" National Quality Award for five consecutive years. In addition, Commercial Union Life New Business Production Volume Award and in 1983 the Norwich Life Independent Broker "Gold Award" for high quality and New Business Production Volume.

Since 1989 he had been an active member of the former Insurance Brokers Council (IBC) serving on the Executive committee for 9 years. He was elected Vice Chairman for 1995 & 1996 culminating in being elected Chairman in 1997 & 1998. He subsequently served as Past Chairman during 1999 & 2000. During his years of involvement on the Executive committee, he also represented his IBC region at Regional, Provincial and National levels on various sub committees. The IBC is now referred to as the "FIA" known as the "Financial Intermediaries Association of Southern Africa" of which he has just celebrated his overall 20 years membership to these organisations.
